Magic is back, but none of the group, except for Alice, can remember who they are after the Library wiped their memories. The Library is keeping magic limited, so they can control who gets power. The group is being terrorized by the Monster, who has taken possession of Eliot’s body.

Brian takes a friend out for ice cream. Sam is one week away from retirement.
The Monster’s Role: The Monster and “Brian” go for ice cream, but “Brian” is scared of the Monster and does not really want to be there. The Monster kills the ice cream man and references wanting to kill Quentin’s friends. The Monster then shares the blood-splattered ice cream with “Brian,” who hesitantly licks it.
